The three former MSU football players accused of sexual assaulting a woman on MSU’s campus in January waived their preliminary examination Thursday morning, bounding the charges over to Ingham County Circuit Court, court documents reveal.

The preliminary examination set for Thursday morning was waived before the proceedings were supposed to begin at 9 a.m. and the case is now moved to circuit court on Oct. 4.

Preliminary examinations are scheduled in order to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.

Donnie Corley and Demetric Vance both face one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct while Josh King has been charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of capturing/distributing an image of an unclothed person.
