Giltner Hall evacuated after minor explosion Friday morning

At about 10:45 this morning, a small explosions occurred in Giltner Hall, according to MSU police.

It took place in an empty lab room and remained isolated there, there were no flames in the explosion but the force was enough to break two windows. A chemical reaction apparently occurred in a refrigeration unit. 

Along with MSU police, MSU's Environmental Health and Safety teams and the East Lansing Fire Department responded to the call. 

The rooms surrounding the accident were evacuated for safety reasons and there was no injuries.
