3D printing studio at local library made available to public

May 22, 2015

The East Lansing Public Library has a set of 3D printers available for students and resident use. See how 3D printing works in this video.

The East Lansing Public Library Maker Studio 2.0 is located above the Marriott at University Place. Every Wednesday during the month of May from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. the studio hosts an event to introduce 3D scanning and design.

The maker studio is publicly available and anyone is welcome to drop in Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. or Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The studio charges 10 cents a gram to 3D print and uses a corn starch plastic in the machines.

The studio will remain open until July 31.
