“We don’t focus on anybody, because everybody is the same and anybody can beat anybody,” defenseman Jimmy Fiscus said. “We can’t take anybody lightly.”
No. 7 Men's soccer hosted their senior day on Sunday against No. 2 Indiana. The team drew 1-1 with Indiana and will take on Ohio State Sunday at 1 pm in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
In their regular season finale, the No. 7 MSU men’s soccer drew with No. 2 Indiana Saturday at DeMartin Stadium 1-1, finishing second in Big Ten on Senior Day. MSU finishes the season at 11-2-3 and 5-0-3 in conference play.
“It was a crazy game, but I think it shows the togetherness of the group,” Rensing said. “Being 4-0-2 in the Big Ten is a great place to be.”
The No. 6 MSU men's soccer team lost its second game and road game of the season to the West Virginia Mountaineers, 1-0.
If you ask Rensing about his 100th career win for the now No. 6 Spartans, he’ll just say “it’s just another win.” “Us coaches, we’re so ingrained in the season,” Rensing said. “All I care about is beating Wisconsin. I’ll think about (the 100th win) for five seconds, and then I’ll be thinking ‘Oh God, we got to play West Virginia.” But that’s who Rensing is. A coach that never puts his personal feats in front of the team he’s coaching and makes sure the players and the team come first.
The No. 6 Spartans men's soccer team beat the No. 12 Western Michigan Broncos on Wednesday evening, 1-0, and improved their record to 9-1-1 this season.
The No. 4 Spartans bounced back after losing their first game of the year Sunday afternoon, beating the No. 16 Ohio State Buckeyes, 5-1. The Spartans are now 8-1-1 on the season and 3-0-1 in Big Ten play.
The No. 6 MSU men’s soccer team is off to a hot start to the season, having a 7-0-1 record, which makes them the first undefeated Spartan team this far into the season since the 1968 team, even though they fell short to starting 8-0-0 like the 1968 team did all those years ago
The No. 4 Spartans lost their first game of the year, losing to No. 24 Akron, 4-1, making their record 7-1-1 on the season. Akron's Nate Shultz scored the first two goals for the Zips, which came in the first half. Those two goals was Shultz's first goals of the season. Nick Hinds had the third goal for the Zips, while Joao Moutinho had the fourth goal for Akron.
The No. 6 Spartans took on the No. 3 Maryland Terrapins Friday night under the lights at DeMartin Stadium in front of a energetic, record breaking 4,678 people in attendance, and came away with a 0-0 tie after playing two overtimes. This was the first tie for the Spartans season, making their record 7-0-1 on the season.

MSU men's soccer defenseman Jimmy Fiscus has won his second Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. Fiscus shared this weeks honor with No. 3 Maryland's Johannes Bergmann. Fiscus played almost 190 minutes last week against then No. 19 Bowling Green State University and No. 18 Michigan Wolverines, without letting in a goal.
With 45 seconds left in overtime, No. 6 ranked MSU and No. 18 ranked Michigan were tied. Connor Corrigan had the ball and sent it across the field for defender, Jimmy Fiscus, who headed the ball into the box. From there DeJuan Jones slid into the box and was able to connect with the ball and bury it into the right side of the net giving the Spartans the win, the Big Bear Trophy and a still untarnished record on the season
The No. 6 ranked MSU men’s soccer team beat No. 19 Bowling Green State University 1-0 last night, under the lights of DeMartin Stadium. Junior forward Ryan Sierakowski scored the lone goal for the Spartans, netting a penalty kick with 37:11 left in the second half.
Junior forward DeJuan Jones was officially named Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week for the MSU men's soccer team.

The men’s soccer team played under the lights for the first time in the program’s history, at DeMartin Stadium in front of a home attendance record breaking crowd of 3,515 fans, with some fans spilling over to the bleachers of Secchia Softball Stadium. The Spartans beat the Dartmouth Big Green, 1-0.
After a victory at DeMartin Stadium on Monday afternoon, the Spartans finish with a score of 1-0 beating Cleveland State University. This game with mark the fourth straight shutout the team has recorded this season. The last time the Spartans went 4-0 overall in the season was back in 1968. For senior goalie Jimmy Hague, this will be his eleventh shutout in his Spartan career.
