Icers sneak by No. 18 Alaska, 2-1

For the second time in three games, the MSU hockey team upset a team ranked No. 18 in the country. Last Saturday, the Spartans beat No. 18 North Dakota 2-1 in the Great Lakes Invitational. On Friday night the Spartans beat No. 18 Alaska 2-1 at Munn Ice Arena.

Offense, home ice crucial for rivalry series

Both MSU and No. 14 Michigan struggled early this season and are looking to head in the right direction before winter break in their first two of four meetings. Icers lose, tie in College Hockey Showcase

For the first time this season, the MSU hockey team scored four goals in a game. But the end to the Spartans’ scoring drought only resulted in a 4-4 tie Saturday with No. 1 Minnesota in the second game of the College Hockey Showcase at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis.

Comley welcomes 4 new recruits

With the lack of offensive production this season for the MSU hockey team, head coach Rick Comley said it’s going to be vital to bring players to MSU who bring offensive power and physical strength to the table.

Icers swept; lose 4 straight for first time since 1991

The No. 17 MSU hockey team has endured two eerily similar weekends in a row. Saturday night’s 3-1 loss to No. 10 Miami (Ohio) was the second straight weekend the Spartans were swept by a clustermate opponent they will face two more times before the end of the season. But the final result wasn’t the only strange similarity of the two losing weekends against two Ohio-based teams.
