MSU calling on students to lobby federal government, defend financial aid

A letter from MSU's Government Relations office is calling on current and former recipients of federal financial aid to contact their elected representatives and express the importance of student aid. Rather than being in response to any particular executive order or piece of legislation, the letter is asking for students to express their support for financial aid amid an "uncertain federal funding environment."

MSU sanctions five fraternities; reasons unclear

Two of the affected fraternities — Pi Kappa Alpha and Sigma Alpha Epsilon — were featured in a State News story published the day before the sanctions went into effect detailing police reports of hazing and sexual abuse at those fraternities and others.
