Professors say weather should not affect attendance

Michigan winters have a fearsome reputation for a reason– between the towering snowbanks, negative temperatures and freezing wind, it’s a generally unpleasant experience for most people. Everyday mundane tasks become much more difficult to do during winter, but going to class becomes especially challenging.  Elementary education junior Lauren Polens admitted she has missed class before due to cold weather, which she said is a justifiable reason.

"I Love Lucy" musical coming to MSU, features alumnus

New hit musical “I Love Lucy” is coming to the Wharton Center this weekend. Viewers will become part of a live studio audience witnessing the production of two well-known “I Love Lucy” episodes, in which students will see cast member and MSU alumnus Richard Strimer. The last show Strimer did as an MSU student was 25 years ago, and he can’t wait to see his company members experiencing the MSU atmosphere and seeing the campus.

Theatre2Film Project begins second stage of student production

Now that the Theatre Department’s Theatre2Film Project has taken the stage, the actors get to see audience reactions and use those responses in preparation for the upcoming film production. Theatre senior CJ Valle, who wrote the script as well as playing the part of a work-obsessed college graduate, said she sought reactions from the actors first. Valle said as she was creating the script, her and director Mark Colson would have a table read with the cast to see what worked and what didn’t.

Sorority to deliver roses to Sparrow Hospital

Every year, Zeta Tau Alpha provides compassion and support to cancer patients at Sparrow Hospital on Valentine’s Day. This year is the fourth annual The Power of Flowers event where students can order a bundle of 10 roses for $20 before Sunday.
