With yoga being a great tool for relaxation and exercise, many students attend classes or practice yoga directly in their dorm or apartment throughout the semester. A different type of yoga, called "Sahaja yoga" that begins with self-realization is taught on campus.

The MSU Drumline is known for giving high-energy performances as students execute stick tricks, drum upside down and play music of all tempos. Computer science junior Jennifer Proos is one of those students who has to balance school, social life, MSU Drumline and WGI. Proos has been playing the snare drum for the MSU Drumline since her sophomore year and has been marching in WGI for six seasons.
