In Wednesdays edition of The State News, MSU President M. Peter McPherson expressed his concerns regarding a recent political cartoon depicting public schools on a cross labeled Proposal 1. McPherson claims that he reserves the right to comment, not so much as president, but as a member of the community.
Im writing to let you know that I found a column about marriage very sexist and extremely offensive (Women should think twice about marriage, SN 10/16). I respect ones decision on whether to get married, but I cannot agree with the way in which writer Jessi Phillips presented hers.
This letter is in response to a sports column by Krista Latham (Student section is becoming unoriginal SN 10/9). Im not sure Latham gets the idea behind what it is she is writing about, so Id like to clarify a few things for her. Latham, the very things you are complaining about and deem unoriginal are quite the opposite - they are what true football fans at MSU consider tradition.
To keep up the ideals of fair and equal justice, states with the death penalty need to pull the plug on their forms of capital punishment.Protesters rallied outside of the Texas governors mansion Monday and the Texas state Capitol on Sunday, asking for a moratorium on capital punishment.
