Police and emergency services prep for busy U-M game weekend

East Lansing and MSU are working together to promote public safety for this weekend’s rivalry home game against Michigan and Halloween festivities, through the Celebrations Committee. Annette Irwin, housing and university relations administrator for the city and co-chair of the committee, said the city and university are preparing for a busy weekend. “It’s the Michigan game and the last time Michigan played here it was a very, very busy night,” Irwin said.

East Lansing community discusses police perception

ELPD held a community forum Wednesday night at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center In light of national events, police shootings and community protests that have occurred across the country to present the priorities of ELPD and have an open panel discussion pertaining to the community’s perception of ELPD.

New mixed-use building will be built where former Taco Bell sat vacant

By August 2017, a new building will be shining on Grand River Avenue. The 565 Building, operated by Cron Management, LLC, started demolition and construction last week on a new mixed-use building project. The building will be on the same lot as the old Taco Bell building and will be five stories, director of planning, building and development Tim Dempsey said.
