No. 11 MSU volleyball defeats Rutgers for the second time this season

It was Breast Cancer Awareness night at Jenison Field House and the MSU volleyball team showed their support by wearing pink. The No. 11-ranked Spartans sweeped Rutgers for the second time this season on Wednesday. Five out of MSU's six hitting errors were made in the third set. There is never a night off in Big Ten volleyball and MSU showed that they’re always ready to work.

No. 14 MSU Volleyball swept by No. 24 Illinios

On Wednesday No. 14 MSU Volleyball lost in three sets against No. 24 Illinois on the road. The Illini swept MSU in three sets, with the second set went into a marathon, with 32 points in favor of Illinois (30-32). The Spartans finished the game with a hitting percentage of only 14.5% compared Illinois' 31.9%.

Two days, two games, and two wins for MSU Volleyball. The No. 21 MSU volleyball team took the win against the University of Maryland in four sets Saturday, right after their win against No. 14 Ohio State.

For the second year in a row, MSU swept No. 14 Ohio State on Friday, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23. From the beginning of the game the Spartans led, and in certain plays they made OSU looked confused on the floor.

Among a roster of 17 players for the MSU volleyball team, two teammates, redshirt-junior Autumn Bailey and senior Allyssah Fitterer, share extremely common roots. Both players, native to Canada, were familiar with each other before arriving at MSU.

MSU volleyball splits weekend series between Iowa and No. 1 Nebraska

Over 7,500 people came to Jenison Field House over the weekend to watch the No. 20-ranked MSU volleyball team start off their conference schedule, splitting the two games. On Friday MSU ousted the University of Iowa (10-4, 0-2 Big Ten) before falling to the No. 1 University of Nebraska (11-0, 2-0 Big Ten) on Saturday.

In front of over 3,600 people, the MSU volleyball team hosted the No. 7 team in the nation, the University of Florida, over the weekend in the Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational. While the Spartans fell in straight sets to Florida, they had a winning weekend, going 2-1.

The MSU volleyball team lost on Sunday to #7, University of Florida Gators, and were swept in three sets. The Gators beat the Spartans 25-13 in the first set, 25-16 in the second and completed the sweep with 25-19 set victory in the third. Florida was the highest ranked opponent MSU faced during the SPartan Invitational, after sweeping both Morgan State and Central Michigan on Saturday.

MSU sweeps day one of Spartan Invitational, will play No. 7 Florida

The MSU volleyball team swept both games Saturday against Morgan State University and Central Michigan University. MSU held both team to 10% and under success rate, Morgan State had 8.2%, while Central Michigan had a 10% success rate throughout the game, compared to the Spartans 30.7% and 31.5%.
