For MSU seniors Jasmine Hines, Cara Miller and Akyah Taylor, Saturday was their final home game in a Spartan uniform. Emotions ran high and the game was hard fought on both sides from the initial tip-off to the final buzzer, and in the end the No. 20-ranked Spartans (22-7 overall, 13-5 conference) defeated the No. 5-ranked Buckeyes (23-6 overall, 15-3 conference) by a final score of 107-105 in a triple-overtime thriller on senior day at the Breslin Center.

On Wednesday evening, the MSU women’s basketball team played their final away game of the regular season against Illinois. The Spartans (21-7 overall, 12-5 conference) blew out the Fighting Illini (9-19 overall, 2-15 conference) by a final score of 71-43.

The intensity was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The game on Sunday afternoon was physical and gritty and a packed, pinked-out Breslin crowd was into it for every second. The No. 25-ranked MSU women’s basketball team (20-7 overall, 11-5 conference) hosted the Minnesota Golden Gophers (18-9 overall, 10-6 conference) in a matchup that will define the Big Ten standings. Coming into Thursday evening’s game against Rutgers, the No. 25-ranked MSU women’s basketball team was in dire need to snap their two-game losing skid and get back on track before the end of the regular season. The Spartans’ (19-7 overall, 10-4 overall) misfortunes ended with a victory against the Scarlet Knights (16-11 overall, 7-8 conference) by a final score of 70-67.
