No. 20 Michigan State hockey (12-10-1) was able to secure first place in the Big Ten last night after taking down Wisconsin (8-12-1) 4-0. The victory gave MSU 25 points in the conference this season and put them one point ahead of No. 6 Penn State, who fell to Michigan 6-0 on the same night.

Coming into the weekend, Head Coach Danton Cole experimented with different line combinations at practice, and it paid off in the Spartan’s (8-7-1) 3-0 win over No. 19 Wisconsin (7-10-1) Friday night. 24 hours later, the same two teams would go at it again, with the green and white looking for the series sweep.

Spartan hockey will hit the road this weekend for a post-Thanksgiving clash with No. 11 Ohio State (7-4-1). Michigan State (6-5-1) entered the polls this week for the first time since 2012 and are now ranked No. 20 in the nation. Game one of the two-game series is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, with the second game at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
