Criminal justice senior Olivia Starzomski stands in the stands inside of IM West Fitness Center’s pool complex on Thursday March 28, 2024. Originally from Canada, Starzomski came to MSU with big goals for the program. Once the program was cut, she sought other schools to transfer. The timing of the termination of the program, left most school’s rosters full and if not, little scholarship money left to allocate, causing Starzomski to stay. Starzomski said that she is proud of herself and her teammates who stayed and continued to fight to bring the team back. “I wish I wasn't the last class,” Starzomski said. “But being the last class and fighting for the team back has been very rewarding.”
