Accounting senior Allison Haak stands outside of the IM West Fitness Center Facility where the remains of the swim and dive program’s outdoor pool remains. In 2021, the university filled the outdoor pool and covered it with grass. Haak remembers coming to swim meets at the outdoor pool when she was growing up. The program being cut forced Haak out of her comfort zone, she said. “I definitely learned a lot more about myself and what I wanted to do,” Haak said. “I found out who I was without swimming and like what I wanted to do after it.”
