The Spartans overcame a 16-point deficit to defeat the Wolverines 37-33 and keep the Paul Bunyan trophy in East Lansing on Oct. 30, 2021. The win marked the second of head coach Mel Tucker's career with Michigan State and he is the only head coach in Spartan football history to start out 2-0 against Michigan.
