Jeff Potter stands at the beginning of the Ted Black Woods Park in Okemos where he spends a lot of time cross-country skiing. Nearly 20 years ago, Potter’s love of journalism and the outdoors led him to begin his own independent outdoor culture company called Out Your Backdoor. He sells gear and hard-to-find books, as well as gathers articles about the outdoors.
