Spartans fall to No. 2 Gonzaga in Armed Forces Classic
SAN DIEGO – The unranked Spartans carried a lead late into the game against No. 2 Gonzaga aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Armed Forces Classic on Nov. 11, 2022, but ultimately fell 64-63.
They had the opportunity to win the game with the final possession, but a broken play led sophomore guard Jaden Akins to take a contested three-pointer as the final shot. It bounced off the back of the rim and the game was sealed for Gonzaga.
