VIDEO: ASMSU starts the discussion to improve first-generation college student experiences

By SaMya Overall | 11/11/19 10:18pm

ASMSU hosted its first annual First-Generation Appreciation Week from Nov.4 to Nov. 8. The week was centered around activities that celebrated and supported first-generation students. First Generation students, or students whose parents didn't complete any college, have a unique college experience and have to learn how to navigate college through series of trials and errors, help from mentors, and help from other first-generation students. ASMSU's Brianna Aiello and Miracle Chatman discuss their experiences being first-generation students and how they hope the appreciation week will help other first-generation students on their journey.
