It's that dreaded time of year — flu season. For a college campus like Michigan State, a flu strain can spread easily. According to the Centers for Disease Control, or CDC, this year’s flu season could be intense.
Flu shots can help you prevent catching the flu and limit the impact of the virus. Here are some East Lansing locations where some residents can get their flu shot:
CVS Pharmacy
Where: 240 M.A.C Ave., East Lansing, MI
When: Sunday-Saturday 7 a.m.-12 a.m.
How: CVS allows walk in and scheduled appointments.
Cost: Free with certain insurance plans, but you only will have to pay the co-payment if required by insurance plan.
Olin Health Center
Where: 463 E. Circle Drive, East Lansing, MI
When: Weekdays 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and closed on Sunday
How: Schedule an appointment by visiting or by calling 517-353-4660
Cost: Varies based on insurance plan
Residential Neighborhood Clinics

East Neighborhood: South Hubbard room 127
South Neighborhood: Holden Hall room G-17
River Trail Neighborhood: West McDonel room 9

North Neighborhood: Due to Olin Health Center's proximity, North Neighborhood does not have its own clinic.

Using hand sanitizer after washing your hands could be the difference between missing a week of classes and a productive week. Having a balanced diet and getting adequate sleep can go a long way to prevent you from catching the flu this winter.
