After the snowstorm that hit the East Lansing region during the weekend, the city will close off all streets for on-street parking starting at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The parking ban will end at 5 a.m. on Monday.
The city made the move in an attempt to aid in snowplowing efforts. East Lansing had a snow depth of 3.3 inches on Sunday, according to Weather Underground.
Vehicles remaining on closed streets may be towed at the owner’s expense, according to a press release from City Manager George Lahanas. The ban does not include the downtown area bounded by M.A.C. Avenue, Albert Avenue, Bailey Street and Grand River Avenue.
Lahanas made the call, with approval from Mayor Mark Meadows.
