• 24 larcenies, ranging from petty theft to theft from a motor vehicle
• Five separate incidences for the violation of a controlled substance
• Three liquor violations
• Three cases of fraud
• Three incidences of non-aggravated assault
• Two miscellaneous arrest
• Two incidences of obstruction
• Two incidences of property damage
• Two burglaries
• One weapons offense
• One peeping tom

Of the liquor violations, two were listed for minor in possession and the other was for an open container. 

Three of the five controlled substance violations were for marijuana possession, one of which resulted in an arrest. According to the log, another violation was for “dangerous drugs” and the other was for the manufacture and possession of a synthetic narcotic. The synthetic narcotic incident was also reported with non-aggravated assault and a weapons offense.

Cases of counterfeiting and impersonation occurred at the administration building and a case of identity theft was reported from MSUPD. 

Both of the burglaries reported on the log — at Akers and Wonders Hall — occurred on Oct. 9. 

On Oct. 9, an individual reported a peeping tom at Butterfield Hall at approximately 4:40 a.m. This was the first peeping tom reported to MSUPD since a Sept. 18 incident that occurred at Shaw Hall. 

East Lansing Weekly Crime Report

East Lansing Police released its weekly case and arrest summary on Monday. Below are some of the notable crimes listed in the release:

• One person was reported missing by ELPD on Oct. 10. The incident was reported from 251 Spartan Ave. 
• Two incidents of criminal sexual conduct were reported. Both remain ongoing investigations and one case was also in connection to a burglary that occurred on Oct. 13.
• Two drug possession incidents were included in the report, one for marijuana and the other for heroin. 
• Six cases of fraud were reported to ELPD, four of which were retail fraud. Three of those incidents were at the Meijer on Lake Lansing Road, the other retail fraud was reported from the Urban Outfitters on Grand River Avenue. 
• Eight larcenies, three thefts, one incident of stalking, one incident of disorderly conduct, one response to harassment, one indecent exposure and one assault and battery were reported. 
• 11 alcohol violations, of which four were driving while under the influence, four were minor in possession charges and three were open liquor violations.
