MSU College Democrats President Daniel Eggerding announced that 2018 Michigan gubernatorial candidate Gretchen Whitmer will no longer be attending the MSU College Democrats general assembly meeting on Jan. 16 because of a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day-related scheduling conflict.

“I think she had a predetermined schedule and got over excited about coming to visit us,” Eggerding said.

Eggerding said Whitmer will now visit MSU at another MSU College Democrats meeting in late February, the date of which is not yet confirmed. Whitmer will also be speaking at the March on Lansing event at the Capitol on Jan. 21, Eggerding said.
