MSU students, staff and others paid tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. with a symbolic ''March for Justice," following a banquet held in MSU Union Ballroom.
Students and many others marched together to the MSU Museum, where a new exhibit on student protests was opened. The festivities included student performances, including that of arts and humanities sophomore Camri Nelson, who can be heard singing "Lift Every Voice" in the video.
“I think he’d (MLK) be proud of how far people have came, but still be thinking about how far we’d have to go,” criminal justice junior Chris Griffey said. “That’s just how the man was.”
MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon and former U.S. Ambassador Andrew Young, who once marched with King, were among those who marched.
