After being closed for a month for renovation preparation, the East Lansing Public Library is now open to the public.
Preparation included moving books and shelves to the south side of the building. Demolition to start improvements began on the north side while a temporary wall separating the north from the south was built.
The library expansion will include a larger teen section and Maker Studio area and the addition of a cyber cafe and a family restroom.
The total renovation will last between eight and nine months and the total cost is approximately $11 million, East Lansing Public Library director Kristin Shelley said.
