The MSU game against University of Michigan on Saturday was ESPN’s most-watched 3:30 p.m. game of all time. The game was also ESPN’s most-watched college football game in October since the Florida State-Miami game in 1994, according to Spartan Athletics.
On average, 7.4 million viewers tuned in for the Spartans vs. Wolverines game, and in the nine minutes surrounding the final play, the number of people tuned in grew to 11.5 million, according to Spartan Athletics.
The Michigan State-Michigan game was college football’s most-watched game last weekend across all networks, averaging 7.4 million viewers.

The game was also WatchESPN’s second-most viewed game of all time with 697,000 visitors spending 39.4 million minutes on its network, according to Spartan Athletics.
The Spartans vs. Wolverines game was the sixth most-watched game of the season, with the top five all being Saturday night games, according to Spartan Athletics. The top game was Ohio State vs. Virginia Tech on Sept. 7 with 10.6 million views and the Spartans’ game against Oregon was the third most with 7.9 million viewers.
OSU, University of Alabama and MSU are the only three schools to have more than one game on the season’s most-watched list, with OSU and Alabama recording three games, according to Spartan Athletics.
