Lansing Township police department are investigating an attempted homicide on a 31-year-old man from Mason that occurred Sunday evening.
Police responded to an assault in the area around Hopkins Avenue and Downer Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Sunday night.
The victim was visiting a residence on Weber Drive when another man came to the residence and started beating him with a baseball bat. The victim was able to get escape the suspect on foot. He was transported to Sparrow Hospital to treat his serious injuries.
The suspect stole the victim’s red 2-door Pontiac Sunfire, which is still missing.
Police believe this to be a targeted assault.
