Women's basketball leads Saginaw Valley State 35-16 at halftime

At halftime of its first exhibition game of the season, the MSU women’s basketball team leads Saginaw Valley State 35-16.

Senior guard Jasmine Thomas leads all scorers with 12 points, followed closely by sophomore center Jasmine Hines with nine points. Senior forward Courtney Schiffauer also had a strong first half, grabbing six rebounds for the Spartans.

MSU is shooting 36.8 percent from the field compared to SVSU at 20 percent, and SVSU has committed 14 turnovers compared to MSU’s three.

Briana Graham leads in both scoring and rebounding for the Cardinals with seven a piece.

The Spartans pushed their lead to 19 at the end of the second half, and didn’t let the Cardinals get any closer.
