Frontier Ruckus plays in Lansing

November 26, 2012

Frontier Ruckus will return to East Lansing at 8 p.m. on Friday for a performance at The Loft, 414 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing.

In addition to sharing their folk/Americana music with attendees of the evening show, the band plans on setting up pop-up shows during the day to help commemorate the 35th anniversary of East Lansing record store, Flat, Black and Circular, or FBC, 541 E. Grand River Ave.

The record store has been a longtime landmark of musically inclined MSU students, and since the opening of the store years ago, owners Dick Rosemont and MSU alumnus Dave Bernath haven’t changed the store much — besides the addition of CDs and DVDs.

Frontier Ruckus will host the FBC pre-party with its own East Lansing sound. Members of the band attended MSU, but all members have called Michigan home. Since its rise to fame, the band has been featured in the likes of Rolling Stone magazine, being described as “Gothic Americana.” The indie folk music produced by the band has proved popular among MSU students, and the band already has performed in the area multiple times in various locations.

Admission for Friday’s show is open to all. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
