With temperatures cooling down on MSU’s campus, individual expression through personal style has become apparent through the added layers. In the midst of fleece jackets, Sperry Top-Siders and the ever-present green and white sweatshirts, some Spartans are sporting their own unique style.
Human resource management junior Aroob Tawfiq doesn’t coordinate her wardrobe to mimic any particular fashion icon. On the contrary, Tawfiq said she’s always had her own style.
“I sort of do my own thing,” she said.

Favorite current trend: Colored pants
Trend you wish to see: A comeback of high-waisted pants
Trend you don’t like: Wearing lingerie, such as slips or corsets, in public.
What she wore: skinny pants and a gray, velour blazer — both from Zara — Tod’s moccasin flats and a past-collection Louis Vuitton bag.
English and advertising senior Cameron Elkins said he didn’t always have a defined style and didn’t know how to put an outfit together throughout high school. Today, he’s transformed from lost teenager to business-casual adult.

Style icon: Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tom Hansen in “(500) Days of Summer”
Favorite trend: Skinny ties
What he wore: Maroon sneakers from Target, Kenneth Cole khakis and a plaid American Eagle button-down.
