I am a resident of the Bailey neighborhood, along with my husband and two young daughters. I love my neighborhood, the students (even when they wake me up at 2 a.m. walking home from the bar!) and living in a college town. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Within the past two weeks, there has been a stop sign stolen near our home twice.
I know whoever is stealing the sign is viewing it as a “prank,” but I feel compelled to write this letter today, as I’ve witnessed several people almost get hit in their cars while driving, oblivious that there should have been a stop sign on the corner.
It’s crazy and dangerous, and I’m hoping whoever is doing it doesn’t try to do it again.
I can’t imagine the guilt one would bear if an accident was caused due to his or her prank.
Please be respectful of your neighbors and their safety.
Thank you.
