MSU absent in Big Ten awards' list

November 30, 2011

The Big Ten announced another slew of awards Wednesday, this time with no members of the first-place MSU football team on the list.

It was Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio State who took home most of the awards. U-M head coach Brady Hoke was voted as the Coach of the Year by both the media and the coaches, while Wisconsin running back Montee Ball was awarded Offensive Player of the Year.

Hoke led the Wolverines to 10-2 record — beating Ohio State for the first time in eight years — and put his team in contention for a BCS bowl berth.

Ball has been a force for the Badgers, who play MSU this Saturday in the inaugural Big Ten Championship game.
