Moster wins her 3rd Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

November 21, 2011

During the MSU volleyball team’s most triumphant weekend of the season, freshman libero Kori Moster also raked in some individual praise.

The young Spartan won her third Big Ten Freshman of the Week award after a two-game performance that helped the Spartans topple No. 7 Illinois and come back from a 2-0 set deficit to hold off Northwestern.

Moster recorded 4.8 digs per set over the weekend, including a 25-dig, five-assist game against Illinois. Against Northwestern she was equally impressive, amassing 16 digs and recording the eventual game-winning ace, ending the five-set battle.

Moster last won the award on Oct. 24, and was the last Spartan to do so.

The Spartans will play their next game at No. 23 Michigan on Wednesday night.
