Should MSU have a fall break?
“I think we should have one because, by now, everyone is getting really sick of schoolwork and if we had a break it would give us a time to regroup and we would be doing better on our school projects right before Thanksgiving.”
Katie Obee
kinesiology freshman
“My girlfriend goes to the University of Michigan and I know her fall break actually helped her study a lot and we don’t get anything like that.”
Sean Fitzgerald
kinesiology freshman
“There was a weekend during the semester when I got really bogged down and I wanted to go home for the week so I just got really stressed out because there was so much going on and if I had time off of class to reconfigure my life and get all my homework in order then that would be a lot better than just going straight through.”
Brennan Woods
secondary education and English junior
“With schoolwork, if there were a fall break, it wouldn’t be as big of a project preparing for finals and final papers due and everything like that — kinda nice to have a little bit of alone time to work.”
Jonathan Hodges
political science junior
“I do believe that MSU should have a break like the other universities do because college can get to be really stressful and sometimes a longer-term break is necessary just to give students a chance to relax and have a couple extra days off during the semester — maybe relieve some stress because college is a big load on us.”
