Two teams within MSU’s Debate Team qualified to participate in the National Debate Tournament, which is set to be held at the University of Texas in Austin.
At least two teams from MSU have qualified to compete for the last 12 years. They have won the title twice.
The teams consist of junior Carlos Eyzaguirre and senior Amit Bindra on one and senior Garrett Abelkop and junior Carly Wunderlich on the other.
The team of Abelkop and Wunderlich was selected as a first-round qualifier by the National Debate Tournament selection committee.
Eyzaguirre and Bindra qualified in a tournament at Illinois State University.
The tournament will be held March 26-29.
