Think globally, act locally!
Some of us are fighting global warming by doing without a car entirely and using Capital Area Transportation Authority to get around. It’s not that difficult or time-consuming once you get used to it. I’m not suggesting everybody stop buying cars. We build some of the best cars in the world in Michigan. But, for less than the cost of dollar-menu burger each week, you can be a part of this effort.
Vote for the additional CATA millage, so that those of us who choose to give up our cars can keep using CATA to fight global warming for you!
CATA is well-managed, even award winning. But the feds are unwilling and the state is unable to provide additional support to offset rising fuel costs. Bus fares have been raised, but it’s not enough.
A small increase in community support is the last hope.
