Lubahn leaves for Miami (Ohio) coaching job

August 6, 2008

Former MSU assistant golf coach Casey Lubahn was named head coach of the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks’ golf team on Tuesday.

Lubahn became a member of the Spartans’ golf staff immediately after graduating from MSU in 2004. He was an assistant coach for the Spartans from June 2004 through August 2006. He returned to his position as assistant coach of the Spartans in 2007.

Lubahn helped guide the Spartans to Big Ten titles in 2005, 2007 and 2008 and last season he was a finalist for the GCAA Jan Strickland Award, which is given to the Division I assistant coach of the year.

During his playing days, Lubahn, a three-year letterwinner at MSU, finished out his playing career with the fifth-lowest career stroke average in MSU history.
