Office closed for Memorial Day

May 20, 2008

All branch offices of the Secretary of State will be closed on May 26 for Memorial Day, according to a press release from Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land. The Secretary of State SUPER!Centers, which normally offer Saturday hours, will be closed on May 24.

Notices are sent to motorists from the Secretary of State 45 days before their drivers license or license plates expire, and if they expire on the day the offices are closed they can be renewed the following day without penalty.

Motorists renewing license plates also can complete transactions by mail, or if eligible, by Internet or touch-tone telephone and license plate tabs will arrive by mail within seven business days. Instructions for these transactions can be found with renewal notices.
