Theatre Department left of out entertainment article

I would like to express my extreme disappointment in the journalism of The State News. The entertainment article Center stage (SN 3/27) by Matt Flint, James Harrison and Ashley Luster blatantly omitted the MSU Department of Theatre as a producing organization. The Department of Theatre puts on a minimum of four shows each semester. Let’s also not forget the three to six shows that are free to the community every summer, made possible by MSU’s Summer Circle Theatre.

Aside from the oversight of us as an active theater organization, the article also provided free advertisement for the upcoming performances of each theater. The Department of Theatre has not one but two openings the very evening the article ran. The entirely student produced and directed performances of “Steps of Wrong” and “Laughing Wild” both ran through Saturday.

To conclude, I would appreciate that the publication partially funded by student fees not overlook the hardworking students and faculty who are doing great things in the Department of Theatre.
