On Friday I had the opportunity to see the MSU Men’s Glee Club perform in Traverse City. Eighty members strong and directed by Jonathan Reed, the group was stellar. As an alumnus of the group, it brought back some great memories. As a current teacher, I was so pleased with the way the group portrayed itself to my high school students. Real men do sing, and wow, do those men sing well.
Everyone should see this group perform, as it is clearly one of the best men’s choruses in the Midwest, if not the entire country. Special congratulations should go out to David Theis, the Glee Club vice president, for his fine job setting up the tour and making all of the arrangements for the local high school groups that joined the concert. Thank you, Glee Club, for making such wonderful music, and being such fine examples for the young men of Traverse City.
