College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and their perspective on their new frontier.

Meet Shea Haddad

1. What is your major?

Interior design

2. Where are you from?

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

3. Where do you live on campus?

East Wilson Hall

4. What’s the best and worst thing about being a freshman?

The best thing is meeting new people. The worst thing is definitely living in the dorms.

5. What’s been the biggest challenge about college so far?

Time management and actually going to class.

6. What is your favorite class?

My communications class. It’s interesting, and we have to do speeches on topics we pick, so it’s kind of fun.

7. What’s your favorite part about Thanksgiving break?

The food – and I can’t wait to go home.

8. How have you changed so far this semester?

I’m more accepting of things I’m not used to.

9. What are you most looking forward to next year?

Living off campus.

I borrow cars, or I take the bus.

12. What’s one thing you’ll do differently next semester?

Take my classes more seriously.

13. What do you do in your spare time?

We dance to Bob Seger.

14. What is your dream job?

Being a caterer. I want to own my own catering company.

15. What do you want to do after you graduate?

Go to culinary school.
