Halloween art

When the black and orange holiday rolls around, glowing faces of all shapes, sizes and expressions can be seen adorning porches and window sills. Be a carving pro this Halloween with the perfect pumpkin and the right supplies:

For the tech-tool savvy, the Dremel Pumpkin Carving Kit is available at Target for $24.99. It includes a battery-operated power carving tool and printed templates.

Markers, pencils and pens can all be used to mark out designs, and if you want to avoid carving altogether, use paint to decorate your gourd.

Stay safe when working with carving tools and wear protective gloves.

Pumpkins are messy, lay down a tarp or newspaper over your work area and wear an apron to keep clean.
