Student receives threatening calls Monday

Police are investigating a series of explicit and threatening telephone calls and text messages received by an Abbott Hall resident Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The 22-year-old male student was contacted and threatened several times by an 18-year-old Clinton Township resident with no university affiliation between about 4:30 and 9:45 p.m., McGlothian-Taylor said. The suspect was reportedly upset that his ex-girlfriend and another female stayed at the victim’s room one night, McGlothian-Taylor said. The suspect was contacted by telephone by MSU police and told to stop calling the victim. The case has been forwarded to the Ingham County prosecutor’s office for review.
