The East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation and Arts are hosting two theme camps to liven the humdrum of summer break for area children.

A Rockit Robot theme camp will run 9 a.m. to noon July 9-12 at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbott Road. Children ages 7-12 will be able to participate in a robotics workshop where they will build and take home their own sound-operated Rockit Robot.

A Survivor theme camp running from 1-5 p.m., July 9-13 from also will take place at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center. Participants ages 10-14 will be divided into tribal teams and compete in head-to-head competitions throughout the week for prizes.
