Cozy study area key for finals

December 5, 2006

Here is a complied list of the top five places to study on or near campus:

Main Library

There shouldn't be a problem trying to find a place to study in this nice and cozy, four-story building. The only warning is the first floor, known as the party floor, might not be your best bet unless you're working on a group project. The library is open 24 hours during finals week, and it is located on campus.

Union

A little-known study lounge located on the second floor of the Union is another good place to cram for finals. It's generally quiet, and you shouldn't have a hard time finding a spot to study. The Union is located on campus.

MSU Law Library

The Law Library has extended hours during finals week, staying open until 2 a.m. If you're studying with a group, you can reserve a study room. The Law Library is located on campus.

Coffee shops

From Starbucks Corp. and Beaner's Gourmet Coffee to Espresso Royale Caffe, there are plenty of shops along Grand River Avenue from which to choose.

Most offer wireless Internet connection and have comfortable furniture. And besides, just the smell of coffee might keep you going through the night.

East Lansing Public Library

If you're having a hard time trying to find a place to study on campus, the East Lansing Public Library is a great backup plan. Located at 950 Abbott Road, the library is open until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
