Cook: 'I have no doubt' Stanton will play Sat.

October 4, 2006

A day after being labeled as probable for the Michigan game, it seems MSU senior quarterback Drew Stanton will be starting under center Saturday.

"I have no doubt (he'll play)," senior center Kyle Cook said after Tuesday's practice. "He'll be there 100 percent."

Cook will move back to center after being listed as the starting left guard on Monday's depth chart. Juniors Pete Clifford and Kenny Shane, the first- and second-string left guards, had been sidelined with injuries, forcing Cook to shift positions. But Cook said Tuesday both are back practicing and look healthy, although it was too early to say who will get to start against the Wolverines.

Saturday's game is at 4:30 p.m. at Michigan Stadium.
