Tillman wins Player of Week for 2 shutouts

September 14, 2006

Senior goalkeeper Jason Tillman was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week this week for the third time in his soccer career at MSU.

The award came after Tillman shut out both No. 19 Virginia Commonwealth and Butler in wins at last weekend's Wolverine Invitational. Tillman also garnered the Wolverine Invitational Defensive Most Valuable Player award.

Tillman maintains the best goals-against average as well as the highest save percentage in the Big Ten. The two shutouts over the weekend bring Tillman's season shutout tally to four and increase his career shutout number to 16.
