Tillman is Big Ten's best defender again

September 28, 2006

MSU men's soccer senior goalkeeper Jason Tillman has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

Tillman was honored after posting consecutive shutouts against Bowling Green and Wisconsin last week. He also earned a spot on Top Drawer Soccer's team of the week for the first time in his career.

In nine starts this season, the captain has allowed just 0.39 goals per game and has an .821 save percentage. He has allowed one goal in MSU's last five games and five all season. His six shutouts this year give him 18 for his career.

The Spartans (6-3-1 overall, 0-1-1 Big Ten) host Indiana at noon Sunday at Old College Field.
