More than $15,000 in video and data projectors were stolen from the Communication Arts and Sciences Building between about 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 44-year-old university employee reported four projectors were taken from a locked storage area. The door was damaged, and there are no suspects, McGlothian-Taylor said.A Sparty statue was taken from the Alumni Association's Union office between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The $150 statue is 30 inches tall and made of plastic or ceramic. The office doors were locked and the case is under investigation.A 49-year-old student reported that three unknown men attempted to enter her Spartan Village apartment while she was inside about three weeks ago, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student's door was locked and when she heard someone unlock the door and shake the knob, she pushed the door closed and yelled. The men then apologized and said they made a mistake. She reportedly saw them leave in a white van with dark tinted windows. About a week later, the student arrived home and found several items moved around and all of the doors open. Nothing was missing, McGlothian-Taylor said.A 19-year-old student reported her shoulder bag was stolen between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Thursday from Jenison Field House, McGlothian-Taylor said. The bag contained a cell phone, leather gloves, winter headband and keys, which amounted to about $150. The student placed the bag in an open room next to the fourth-floor weight room that is designated for people to leave their belongings while they work out, McGlothian-Taylor said.A $200 chair was reportedly stolen from the Bailey Hall lobby between 9 a.m. Jan. 14 and 9 a.m. Tuesday, McGlothian-Taylor said.
