An MSU student reported a sexual assault after an acquaintance repeatedly grabbed her breast Thursday, according to an MSU police report. The Van Hoosen Hall resident told police the man knocked on her door while she was on the phone, so she let him into the room and finished her conversation, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. While she talked with the man, he suddenly reached out and grabbed her right breast twice, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student hit the man with an open hand in the head, began yelling and chased him out of her room and into the hallway, McGlothian-Taylor said.As she chased him, she yelled for a friend to call 911, and the man stopped and punched her in the mouth and nose with a closed fist, McGlothian-Taylor said.Officers contacted and arrested the man, a 34-year-old from Lansing, and learned he has two misdemeanor warrants out of Lansing Police Department, so they turned the case over, she said. The report of the assault has been forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, McGlothian-Taylor said. An MSU student's cell phone, watch, keys and $1 in cash were stolen in a strong-armed robbery that took place early Saturday morning, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student was outside, near the Union, when he was approached by three men who demanded money, she said. The men struck him several times when he turned to walk away, eventually throwing him to the ground and going through his pockets, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student sustained swelling, bruising and a small laceration around his right eye, but refused medical treatment, she said. The case is under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.
